Info Post

Whether you’re sad or happy upon hearing the news that broke yesterday about the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore being the show’s last probably depends on two things:

1. If you thought the show could possibly have any new directions to go in after six seasons and two spin-offs.

2. If you think the demise of the show means that, without their pre-eminent reality program to turn to, MTV might start playing music videos again.

We’re on board with #1, though we’re a bit skeptical about #2—after all, MTV existed in a non-video-friendly state for many years before Jersey Shore hammered yet another nail in the coffin. Two people that have faith, though, are Voice personalities Adam Levine and Carson Daly. Levine, whose anti-post-video-MTV feelings are well-documented, took to Twitter yesterday to stand triumphantly over Jersey Shore‘s corpse:

Then Daly—who as you might remember, hosted an MTV show once upon a time—chimed in agreement:

Of course, we are super-extremely in support of both of these tweets. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves—we don’t want to have our expectations crushed when the show just gets be replaced by, uh, Nebraska Inland or something.
